To Whom It May Concern:
Animal Control and the investigator that were at my home
conveniently chose to not tell the media that the filthy trailer they are
talking about (ankle deep feces and such) is a trailer that was abandoned 4
years ago. No animal or person has lived there since that time, other then
animals that came into the yard and went through the doggie door. We removed
the steps approximately a year ago after realizing that animals were getting in
so they no longer had access through that door. Now, only the pigeons can get
in. I just haven’t had the $4000.00 to have it removed and destroyed. There
is “food” in the fridge that is coded 2003. We told the authorities when they
entered the trailer that it was abandoned and no one using it, but they chose to
photograph and used it against us anyway with no explanation.
There is a back bedroom in my house that is also a mess.
I have had people remodeling it and the last person used it for the garbage room
and then disappeared. . We just closed it off so no one had access until we
were able to strip it and and redo the room. I felt it best to address the
areas of the house that we were using first. 10 cats were residing in that
house.
NO animals have ever been tortured or starved. There is
food and water everywhere and lots of healthy animals. The animals that I take
in are ones that no else wants. They come in sick or injured. Some with
issues using litter boxes and 3 that have birth defects that left the unable to
control bowel and bladder. With daily baths and manually addicting in
urination and defecation they have done every well. I also accept Feline
Leukemia cats who are not yet showing debilitating
indications of the disease. When the disease begins to take effect they are euthanatized".
Losing weight is one of the cardinal signs of this disease.

Meet
Scarlet (calico)
& Trooper (orange and white)
They were confiscated from my property during the
raid by Nye County Animal Control August 1st.
They are approximately 10 months old and I've cared
for them for 6 months. They have special needs. They are
manx cats with genetic deformities and incontinent but
they did well under my care.
August 18th a friend went to Animal Control to check on
my cats and asked about these two. She was told that they
came in one morning and found Trooper comatose and euthanized
him. I wasn't informed, the vet I work with was on call for any
of their needs and she wasn't contacted. I wasn't give his body,
so I assume he was taken to the dump. |

I work with several vets,
primarily Dr. David Henderson and Dr. Kevin Collins and they are just a phone
call away for treatment, medical advice, medication and Dr. Collins is a mobile
vet. Animal Control was talking about taking all my dogs and livestock.
Dr. Collins made an emergency trip here to confirm they were healthy.
One of our local vets refused to come out to check the animals.
After Dr. Collins checkup, they decided to leave the remaining animals.
Because of the responsibilities at FLOCK before May 30th
and all the problems after I left a great deal of manpower and time that should
have gone to my animal care had to be transferred to these issues.

They are trying to link me with FLOCK and the tragedy that
happened there. Again, I left FLOCK May 30th and the new board and
staff took over that day. www.flockcats.com
has documentation for this. If FLOCK was left so badly, why was Animal
Control not contacted immediately? They were there before I left and shortly
after with (to my knowledge) no citations issued. Why did the condition
continue to worsen until Best Friend’s intervention?
One of the animals they picked up Wednesday was a very old
yorkie that belongs to an employee. Her “owner” went on vacation and this
little dog waited for her to return. We were going to euthanize her, but
animal control took her. The vet that was here that night even recommended
euthanasia. She was still at animal control yesterday (8-2-07), old, sick and
scared and nothing done.
